Hi. I’m Laurie Claeys. I am going to be 49 in December. I am the youngest child of two older brothers, Jim and John and the daughter of the late John & Judy Pietrocarlo. I grew up in Morrisville, Pennsylvania and had a wonderful childhood. We were a middle class family – my father worked two jobs and my mother was a stay-at-home-mom. Our family vacations were camping and we traveled all over the East Coast pulling our many modest campers vying for equal space in the back seat of the car. I have many happy memories of spending time in campsites – swimming, biking, campfires, songs, board games, walking, meeting new friends. I hadn’t been camping for many years when I started dating Dave and thankfully he had the same love for the outdoors. Only he did it in a tent! It didn’t take much getting used to though and off we went on many travels together – Alaska, Washington, Colorado, Alberta. Dave and I married in 2004 and we became an instant family with our two sons, Michael and Matthew. In 2012 we bought a second home on a lake in NJ which was a dream come true. In July of 2014 we adopted a rescue dog named Jackson and Dave began thinking of retirement (I have some years yet to go). He also began his quest to get me to travel cross-country in an RV. I was not thrilled. Then, that summer my father was diagnosed with cancer and died 6 months later. I knew then we could not wait for retirement because you just never know what tomorrow will bring. And so the planning began. We bought an RV, quit our jobs, sold our primary residence, moved to the lake and here we are. Traveling around the U.S. to visit National Parks and all the splendor this country has to offer. Join us.
